MIKE DEAL / FREE PRESS The fire damaged homes at (from left) 72, 74, and 76 Cobourg Avenue. A Winnipeg man who lives next door to a row of burned out, vacant homes now being targeted by squatters says his concerns have been ignored by the city for months. The homeowner has called, emailed and written his city councillor, the mayor and his MLA but he says nothing is done to address the row of vacant homes in Elmwood. A home near to his on Cobourg Avenue was hit by fire in August 2024 which spread to the two neighbouring houses, leaving the row of three prime fodder for break-ins and theft.
