What: This is for an Intersection piece on Tamara Dates, which turns out gourmet, chocolate-covered dates as well as dates stuffed with nuts. Noura and her husband Anan came to Canada in 2018, from the UAE, where they had fled to from their native Syria. Treats featuring dates are common in the Middle East, so when one of Noura's neighbors was ill, Noura made her some chocolate-covered dates as a gift. Noura began selling them... which she and her husband began to do in Nov. 2020. They now ship as far as BC and Texas, and are discussing retail opportunities with large stores.
