16012025 A trophy sits in Val and Bryan McFarlane’s ice-fishing shack on Minnedosa Lake on a mild Thursday. The McFarlane’s have had an ice-fishing shack on the lake every year for the last fifteen years. They keep track of their days out and how many fish they catch. The most they’ve caught in one day this year is 12 fish, most of which they release back into the lake. Each year they have a competition amongst family members to see who can catch the most fish during the ice-fishing season. The winner gets their name on the trophy. (Tim Smith/The Brandon Sun)
