MIKAELA MACKENZIE / FREE PRESS City of Winnipeg urban forestry worker Mitchell Horton clears tree debris after cutting down a Dutch Elm Disease (DED) marked tree in Assiniboine Park on Tuesday, Feb. 4, 2025. The team does more DED management in the winter, as riverbank access is easier and the elm bark beetles that spread the fungus are overwintering. Standup. Winnipeg Free Press 2025
