Deputy Mayor Russ Wyatt gets a little help from his father Reg (left) also a former city counsellor, lifting a time capsule into place at the grand opening of the Transcona Centennial Square. Showcased at the official opening of the public plaza will be a clock tower, fountain, heritage wall, sculptures and an amphitheatre. At the base of the pavilion stage, the Centennial Time Capsule placed to remain until 2062. The dedication will take place at 3 p.m. Entertainment will begin at 3:30 p.m. including Dean Gunnarson, the Danny Kramer Band, Aoe Adams and Genessa Ruffeski, Jason and Tom Petric and the Doreen Bisset School of Dance.
