Local Black filmmakers and musicians are joining forces on a new festival that combines both disciplines, shining the spotlight on the creative community while building networking and mentorship opportunities within both industries. Ahead of their announcement of the  initiative for the Black Film and Music Festival on Thursday morning, filmmakers Rogers Ofime and Gloria Thompson discussed their careers and their desire to provide a centralized database of Black filmmakers, actors, designers and musical professionals to help ease the way for more collaboration and creativity to flourish..
