SAREX Marine Rescue Search and Rescue personal team up with the Canadian Coast Guard and Canadian Forces in Gimli Wednesday to perform a mock rescue of a fishing vessel with a trauma victim (with eyeball out of socket) on board their vessel. The SARTech responders had to parachute from a hercules airplane into Lake Winnipeg near the stranded boat and climb aboard their vessel to accomplish their mission. After applying first aid they manage to bring casualty back to Gimli harbour. Mission accomplished. See Ashley Priest story. Sept 18,, 2013 Ruth Bonneville Winnipeg Free Press
