Photo description:
Birt Cup founder Scott Hlady tees off on the first hole at the Wheat City Golf Course to kick off the second wave of the annual event on Friday afternoon. Hlady and Dwayne Gylywoychuk started the event in 2008, but stepped aside in 2018 for Tyler Crayston and Brandon University. For a story on Hlady, who recently left his position as the longtime equipment manager of the Brandon Wheat Kings, see Tuesday's edition of The Brandon Sun.
