Cam Hunter and Debbie Routledge accept a $25,000 cheque that will be used to renovate the kitchen in the Kenton Memorial Hall this year. Greg Facy presents the cheque on behalf of Fusion Credit Union. The hall unites the surrounding community in Westman for 100 kilometres, offering a venue for events like weddings. With new, deep sinks and upgraded countertops, and appliances, the hall is set to continue to serve the community for many years to come, thanks to a grant from the credit union. Debbie and Cam told the Sun they both had wedding events at the hall. They are part of Kenton Community Enterprises, a charity that looks after buildings and community features in the area to ensure they are in good condition to serve the community. The list of facilities includes the rink, campground, and a band stand as well. The renovation at the kitchen is planned to be ready for next year, with work taking place through the winter.
