More info: For an Intersection piece on Country Roots, which started in the '70s as Petrasco Bros Garden Centre. Kathy started working there as a teenager and never left. She bought the biz after its founder retired in 2010. She renamed it Country Roots Market & Garden in 2018, to reflect a new business model: after decades of selling flowers, plants and fresh produce, the shop now stocks a wide variety of made-in-Manitoba products besides fruits and veggies.
