Members of the City of Brandon parks team work to remove ash trees on 11th Street between Rosser Avenue and Princess Avenue in downtown Brandon on Thursday. Since Monday, workers have been removing ash trees that have been deteriorating due to a combination of factors, including an infestation of the invasive cottony ash psyllid. Removing the infested trees is part of an effort to protect still-healthy trees. The city plans to replace the removed trees with new varieties next spring. (Tim Smith/The Brandon Sun)
