Erica Alex and Hanna Popp use their binoculars to look for a Nuthatch bird while on a Christmas Bird Count tour through Minnedosa on Saturday. The Nuthatch made a call from a stand of trees. The two wandered the area as part of their role to cover a large zone in Minnedosa and count bird numbers. The two tallied all birds they identified as part of the hobby/citizen science count. They also found in the area that afternoon four Chickadee and roughly 30 House Sparrow birds. Roughly eight others were part of the count this year in other areas of Minnedosa to get a picture of winter bird populations. (Connor McDowell/The Brandon Sun)
