The event included a lunch and prizes in various pow wow categories. Chan Kagha Otina Dakota Wayawa Tipi School has approximately 210 students from nursery school up to adult education. School principal Delonna Pratt said the annual pow wow is “a celebration of the school year and coincides with the upcoming summer solstice.” She added “in Dakota Culture there is a lot of connection to the earth so we make sure to give our thanks to creator every day for what we have.” (Tim Smith/The Brandon Sun)
