MIKE DEAL / FREE PRESS Monique Ellison, Summer Team Coordinator with the Save Our Seine cleanup crew, steers the canoe Thursday morning. The crew of usually three is out most nice days paddling their way along the Seine River filling up their canoe with heaps of garbage. The portion of the Seine River in the city they are charged with protecting is about 26kms long and they will cover that distance at least four times during the next few months removing garbage and making sure the river is kept as healthy as possible. Every day they are in the river they collect about truck load of garbage, sometimes two loads depending on the stretch of the river they are canoeing that day. 260618 - Thursday, June 18, 2026.
