The Jason Schreyer Memorial Grocery Affordable Access Program is celebrating its one-year anniversary this weekend. The program seeks out sales and buys food in bulk, selling it to people at the lowest possible price several times a month. It's a way to help the growing number of people caught in the middle who may not regularly need food banks but are struggling to pay bills. They're now seeing hundreds of people every time they open, speaking to the level of need at its two locations in Elmwood-Transcona and Daniel MacIntyre.
