Local South Dugald development

A resident in the Dugald area, Christina Pyra, talks to reporters about her concerns with Wyatt being so late for an important meeting at City Hall Thursday.

She is one of a group of area residents near Dugald Road that came to City Hall to appeal the surging property taxes the city is getting them to shoulder with rapid development in the area. Debates center on whether new developments and infrastructure upgrades—like water services or secondary plans—unfairly shift financial burdens onto taxpayers through special levies and higher valuations instead of developers.
