Pedestrians walk along Taché past the brand new mural on the side of the St. Boniface Hospital Friday afternoon.
St. Boniface Hospital, St. Boniface Hospital Foundation, and the Higher Learning Foundation have unveiled a new large-scale mural on the front of St. Boniface Hospital today, bringing vibrant public art to Taché Avenue and celebrating the Hospital’s history, community, and commitment to fostering healing through the arts.
Created by Canadian-born artist and muralist Emmanuel Jarus, the mural draws inspiration from the natural landscape of the Red River Valley and the heritage of the Grey Nuns, who arrived in the community by canoe more than 150 years ago and founded St. Boniface Hospital, establishing a tradition of compassionate care that continues today.
