LOCAL - Rotary Tall Grass Nature Park

Patricia Dutchak, a member of the Rotary Club, looks out from the Rotary Tall Grass Nature Park at the adjacent commercial development. The park's native tall grass prairie faces ongoing environmental damage due to the misuse of land during the surrounding commercial construction.

Rotary Tall Grass Nature Park, a long strip of treed pathways and tall grass between commercial properties near 1001 Regent Ave W.

Story: Patricia Dutchak is a member of the Rotary Club of Winnipeg-Transcona. She’s been documenting the significant damage to the Rotary Tall Grass Nature Park in Transcona caused during the relocation of a fence between the park and the Amazon fulfillment centre next door. Large swaths of grass and foliage in the protected nature preserve were trampled by heavy equipment in August. The city is apparently seeking damages.
