MIKE DEAL / FREE PRESS Kristen Hardy, who has an underlying health condition, said she faces barriers to get two doses of Nuvaxovid, a non-mRNA COVID-19 vaccine by manufacturer Sanofi, this season. It is not available at pharmacies, and the earliest appointment is in late October.  Pharmacists are asking the Manitoba government to allow them to administer more types of vaccines, and to conduct a sustained campaign for flu and COVID-19 shots, rather than a seasonal one, to counter declining uptake. Pharmacists want to be able to administer vaccines for RSV an hep A and B, and to prescribe vaccines for shingles. Reporter: Chris Kitching 261008 - Thursday, October 08, 2026.
