Ruth Bonneville / Free Press ENT - ukrainian museum - Name of Life Art titled: Grief/Love Olesia Sloboda, Curator of Collections, gives tour of 4 exhibits at Oseredok, Ukrainian museum. Second: In the Name of Life is a moving exhibition by Kyiv-based artist Oksana Briukhovetska, on display at Winnipeg's Oseredok Ukrainian Cultural and Educational Centre. Rooted in the shared wartime experiences of women across generations, the exhibit connects the artist's first-hand perspective of the current war in Ukraine with her grandmother's memories of World War II. Through hand-sewn textile collages crafted from everyday materials, the artwork honors ordinary acts of domestic care and resilience as profound, radical strategies for survival against geopolitical violence.
