THIS CITY - 2nd floor main dining room of Bailey's Restaurant & Lounge with Leo Groumoutis (owner) : This is for a Sunday This City profile of Bailey's - a downtown institution since the early 70s. Owner Leo Groumoutis started there as a 13-year-old dishwasher and, a couple of decades later, ended up buying the place together with his brother George. So shots of Leo - maybe holding up one of Bailey's signature dishes (they make a killer steak sandwich) - in one of the restaurant's dining rooms. We'll have room for five or six pics so also shots of the exterior - the lounge & pool table area, the library room - and if possible, there are a series of hidden tunnels in the basement that lead throughout the downtown - Leo used to play hide and seek down there as a kid, so that might be an interesting pic, too....story by Dave Sanderson .Aug 26 2014 / KEN GIGLIOTTI / WINNIPEG FREE PRESS
