Kaska swims behind  Drew Caldwell, Municipal Gov't Minister in the Journey to Churchill exhibit at the Assiniboine Park Zoo for an announcement Tuesday to showcase the completed district geothermal heating and cooling system. The system installed by the Assiniboine Park Conservancy last June provides 100 percent of the heating and cooling at the exhibit. The Conservancy received a $105,160 grant under the Manitoba Geothermal Energy Incentive program and is in support of TomorrowNow- Manitoba's Green Plan and Manitoba Clean Energy Strategy, they anticipate a saving of at least $40,000 a year with the geothermal system.   see release.
